At the end of 2010, the Port and Shipping Company was established as the production Institute of the Port and Shipping Plate of the Group Company. Relying on the platform of "going out" of the Group Company, it closely followed the steps of the Group Company and participated in a series of overseas projects for eight years. Overseas projects are difficult and overseas projects are difficult. In the process of developing overseas projects, a number of advanced deeds and excellent employees have emerged in port and shipping companies. Among them is Pan Jianwen, the general office of our harbour office.
Newborn calves
In 2011, Pan Jianwen participated in the first overseas project, China-Myanmar Railway (Mujie-Haoyao). China-Myanmar Railway is not only a convenient passageway for China to go to sea in the Indian Ocean, but also a major passageway for improving Myanmar's comprehensive transportation conditions, improving the social and economic level along the line and stimulating the local economy. In order to complete the task assigned by the group and find out the location of the port, he went to Myanmar three times in half a year, for more than a month. The project team took a car across mountains, rivers and seas, and used boats when the car could not arrive, and stormboats when the ship could not arrive. They ran all over the preferred port sites in Northwest Myanmar in half a month. In order to grasp the first-hand information, at each alternative port site, he has to go ashore to check the terrain, investigate the hydroelectric and outreach conditions. When the underwater situation is complex and does not meet the investigation conditions, he knows the waterway situation from the local fishermen and uses the most primitive method of dredging to estimate the water depth. After half a month's on-site inspection, the project team collected a large amount of information, and finally completed the preparation of the report satisfactorily, which provided valuable reference for railway route selection.
Never forget the first heart, temper the sword
The Takena Port Project in Peru is a historic project. As a result of the South American Pacific War, the port of Arica in Tackna was occupied by Chile, and Bolivia lost its sea port and became a landlocked country. Peru and Bolivia both want to build a new port and move back to the Pacific Ocean. Bolivia has even rented a long piece of land on the northern coast of Tackna, named the "Bolivian Sea". The project team returned to Takena after a visit from Port Arica. In order to facilitate their work, they hoped to gain more days of stay when they entered Peru. When customs officials heard that Chinese experts had come to study and build the port, they were very excited. They said that their home was in Takena. They had been looking forward to the port for a long time, hoping to help them realize their dream, so they gave the project team the longest stay. Such a port project may be insignificant in China, but in the eyes of the local people, it carries the dreams of the local people. At that moment, Pan Jianwen felt heavy responsibility on his shoulders. He was secretly determined to do a good job of the project, and could not fail his expectations.
This project is the first project of the port and shipping company to win the bid through international bidding, and it is also the first project designed in full accordance with foreign standards. The pre-operation and post-research of the project lasted for two years. The report contained 11 professional contents and was divided into five stages. It took 270 days to prepare the report (excluding approval). In the meantime, coordination with the Peruvian Ministry of Communications, Port Authority, Copper Mining Corporation, the Government of Tackner, Tunnel Authority, Subcontractor PRW Company, ALPHA Company and its hired experts will be required. In order to save the cost as much as possible under the premise of ensuring the smooth progress of the project, the project adopts the form of cooperation between China and Secretariat. The field investigation is mainly completed by Peru team (PRW, ALPHA), and the Chinese team is mainly responsible for the research and design of the core project. As the project leader, Pan Jianwen took root overseas and went to Peru five times in two years. He went there for several months. The research reports of each stage were managed and compiled on the spot. Because Peru lacks experience in port design, it brings great challenges to the project. Communication between project team and local sub-contractor experts, because of cultural differences, standard differences, often a seminar is held one day. With the spirit of being willing to study and not afraid of hardships, the project team, supported by the strong backing of the company, is determined to overcome all difficulties and complete the project on schedule according to the contract, which has been approved and approved by the owner's Tuckner Government and the Port Authority of Supervision, thus laying a solid foundation for the follow-up of the project.
Overseas projects are difficult, overseas projects are difficult, and emergencies occur on the spot. More can only be solved on the spot as far as possible. Every time Pan Jianwen comes back to share his experience with his colleagues, he talks about some unforgettable moments during his overseas work: the first visit to the Andean Plateau, more than 10,000 meters a day, the magnificent Highland scenery along the line accompanied by a headache-splitting experience; the working group in front of him compiles bids all night, and they work together. Battle friendship at the sleeping table; having to drive nearly 3,000 kilometres to and fro in two days because one member of the project team had his passport stolen and was unable to take a plane; travelling night after night to attend the project start-up meeting; various research exchanges held to find solutions to Langda's inability to measure offshore data; and participating in the project of the Tuckner Government Promotion meeting, overnight project publicity animation....
Keep Mission in mind and Be a Pioneer
Pan Jianwen often said that reading 10,000 volumes of books is better than traveling 10,000 miles. He often encouraged people to participate in overseas projects and go out to see more. Overseas projects are difficult and challenging, but they are also fun.
In the past eight years, Pan Jianwen has participated in China-Myanmar Railway (Mujie-Haoyao), Indonesia Minguru-South Sumatra Railway and Coal Terminal Project, Tanzania Mtwara Port New Berth Project, Peru Tackna Port Project, Peru Coastal Railway Project, Australia CEIP Project. There are many overseas projects such as the new berth project in Tanzania's Mtwara Port, the integration project of Brazilian Fiol Railway between the two oceans, the intermodal transport project of Croatian Port and Railway, the intermodal transport project in Panama Canal Area, the central passageway project in Ghana, the new Istanbul Canal project in Turkey and the Eastern Railway Project in Nigeria. And Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. He has never forgotten his first heart, kept his mission in mind, and moved forward. He has been appraised many times as an excellent employee of the port and shipping company and a former recruit overseas. He has slowly transformed into an "international Pan".
