On August 8, 2018, China Railway Group Ltd and Bangladesh Railway signed an engineering contract on implementing the construction of Main Railway Line of Bladma Major Bridge. The total contract price is 3.14 billion USD. The mileage of the main track of the newly-constructed railway is estimated to be 168.6km with a top design speed of 120km per hour, connecting Dhaka with Jessore. CREEEC is authorized to undertake all the design works of the project.
